Exports of services continued increasing
Review of the Balance of Payments services exports and imports for Q3 2017

The data on the exports and imports of services by country and type of service for Q3 2017 released by the Bank of Lithuania and Statistics Lithuania show that exports of services amounted to EUR 2.2 billion, imports of services – EUR 1.3 billion; the surplus on the balance of services stood at EUR 899.2 million, or 8.0 per cent of GDP. In Q3 2017, the surplus on the balance of services widened by EUR 285.9 million, or 46.6 per cent year on year due to exports of services, which outpaced imports (22.5% and 10.2% respectively). During the quarter, year on year, the strongest growth was recorded in exports of telecommunications as well as computer and information services (even 62.4%) and imports of these and transportation services (each by 16.9%).
