No 16: Heterogeneity in the Internationalization of R&D: Implications for Anomalies in Finance and Macroeconomics

The Occasional Paper Series features extensive analytical papers of an argumentative or descriptive nature that analyse relevant economic, financial and monetary policy issues. Some of these papers aim to provide a more detail explanation of the Bank of Lithuania policy decisions, while others present the authors’ opinions, which do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the Bank of Lithuania. Review of the Survey of the Real Estate Market Participants (2017/2)

The real estate (RE) market and its sustainable development are crucial to maintaining the stability of the domestic financial system. The Survey of the Real Estate Market Participants is an additional RE market monitoring tool, which reflects the market participants’ opinion on RE prices, indicates segments that record most considerable RE price changes, as well as reveals potential reasons behind price dynamics and the expectations of the RE market participants regarding future developments in prices, supply and demand. The Survey is conducted on a quarterly basis, and, as of September 2016, its Review is published biannually.

The Monthly Bulletin presents Lithuania’s key economic development indicators, statistics on monetary financial institutions’ balance sheet, monetary statistics, statistics on interest rates on loans and deposits, statistics on investment funds’ balance sheet, financial markets statistics, payment statistics, as well as statistics on quarterly financial accounts, balance of payments and foreign reserves. The Bulletin was first published in 1994.

Macroeconomic Projections (September 2017)

The Bank of Lithuania macroeconomic projections are the result of macroeconometric modelling and expert assessment. In making projections, a structural macroeconomic model is applied, which is created and updated by the Economics Department of the Bank of Lithuania. The model-based projections are then updated, taking into account expert judgement on structural changes and the latest available information on the forthcoming economic shocks. The publication is prepared on a quarterly basis.

Review of the Activities of the Lithuanian Central Credit Union (2017/Q2)

The Review presents information from the respective period on the Lithuanian Central Credit Union’s assets, liabilities and capital as well as their structure, its profitability, compliance with prudential requirements, funds accumulated in the stabilisation fund and the liquidity maintenance fund and their use. The Lithuanian Central Credit Union’s annual financial data, approved by the general meeting of members, and information on compliance with prudential requirements are presented at the end of the financial year. As of 2016, the Review is prepared on a quarterly basis.

The Review presents information on the indicators of the Lithuanian insurance market in the respective period, as well as assesses changes and their possible impact on the further development of the market. Taking into account the changes in the country’s economic environment, it overviews the development of the life assurance and non-life insurance branches, trends in the evolution of different groups and types of insurance. The Review is prepared on a quarterly basis.

Review of the Activities of Credit Unions (2017/Q2)

The Review presents information on the assets, liabilities and capital, their structure, changes, profitability, compliance with prudential requirements, and operational trends of the credit union sector in the respective period. Also available is information on the key performance indicators of each credit union in the respective quarter and compliance with prudential requirements. At the end of the financial year, information is provided on the key performance indicators of each credit union and their compliance with prudential requirements according to the data of the audited set of annual financial statements, approved by the general meeting of members. The Review is prepared on a quarterly basis.
