In Q4 2015 a EUR 421.2 million current account balance surplus was recorded. It formed as a result of the increasing surpluses on the balances of services and secondary income, which offset the deficits of the foreign trade and primary income balances. In 2015, the surplus current account balance formed for the first time. The positive EUR 830.2 million financial account balance in Q4 2015 was a result of both decreasing net liabilities to non-residents and increasing net claims to non-residents.
At the end of Q4 2015, the negative international investment position balance (EUR 16.8 billion) showed that Lithuania is a debtor vis-a-vis the rest of the world.
