The balances of current transfers, services and trade in surplus offset the increasing deficit of income balance, leading to an LTL 187.8 million surplus in the current account balance inAugust 2012. The CAB in surplus in the balance of payments builds up for a fifth consecutive month already, i.e. from April. For the first time since December 2009, a trade balancein surplus (LTL 92.3 million) was recorded in the balance of payments in August 2012. The negative figure for the financial account balance (LTL-194.1 million) in the balance of payments in August 2012 was driven by an increase in official reserve assets and an outflow of net portfolio investment.

Please pay attention that, while releasing the revised quarterly balance of payment data for 2009-2012, the monthly data of respective periods were recalculated as well.
