In Lithuania, consumer credits can be granted by credit institutions (banks and credit unions), peer-to-peer lending platforms, and other financial institutions included in the public list of consumer credit providers (all together – consumer credit providers). This section provides information on consumer credit providers: the so-called payday loan companies and linked consumer credit (leasing) providers.
Currently, 56 consumer credit providers can grant consumer credits in our country. The portfolio of these companies amounted to EUR 634 million and the number of customers reached 418 thousand at the end of first half of 2019.
