In Lithuania, consumer credits can be granted by credit institutions (banks and credit unions), peer-to-peer lending platforms, and other financial institutions included in the public list of consumer credit providers (all together – consumer credit providers). This section provides information on consumer credit providers: the so-called payday loan companies and linked consumer credit (leasing) providers.
Currently, 55 consumer credit providers can grant consumer credits in our country. The portfolio of these companies amounted to EUR 380 million and the number of customers reached 502 thousand at the end of 2016.
We publish consumer credit market statistics on a quarterly basis and a detailed review of the market on an annual basis.
