The Supreme Court of Lithuania: The Bank of Lithuania dismissed former head of the Credit Institutions Supervision Department Kazimieras Ramonas on reasonable grounds
By the final and and conclusive ruling, the Supreme Court of Lithuania confirmed that the Bank of Lithuania had imposed the strictest disciplinary penalty — dismissal — on the former head of the Credit Institutions Supervision Department, Kazimieras Ramonas on reasonable grounds.
The Supreme Court rejected Mr. Ramonas' lawsuit and left unchanged the ruling of the appeal instance — Vilnius District Court, under which the dismissal of the head of the Credit Institutions Supervision Department for a rough breach of labour discipline had been recognised as grounded.
On 28 November 2011, Vitas Vasiliauskas, Chairman of the Board of the Bank of Lithuania, imposed the disciplinary penalty on Mr. Ramonas for maladministration and bureaucracy in his service.
Having on 17 December 2012 satisfied the appeal by the Bank of Lithuania, the Vilnius District Court recognised as lawful all the four items of the order, under which Mr. Ramonas had been dismissed.
Kazimieras Ramonas headed the Bank of Lithuania Banking Supervision Department, which subsequently was renamed as the Credit Institutions Supervision Department, from 1996.
