In October 2006, external assets of the Bank of Lithuania increased by LTL 223.6 million to form LTL 12.1 billion at the end of the month. As a result of transactions, external assets went up by LTL 226.9 million.
In October, currency in circulation rose by LTL 112.9 million to LTL 7.5 billion at the end of the month. As a result of transactions, residential deposits with the Bank of Lithuania grew by LTL 95.2 million over the month to form LTL 3.8 billion at the end of the month. Of them, the deposits of other MFIs as a result of transactions went up by LTL 34.3 to make up LTL 2.3 billion. At the end of the month, the deposits of the central government rose by LTL 60.8 million to LTL 1.5 billion.
Over the month, capital and reserves hiked by LTL 14.0 million as a result of transactions to form LTL 986.0 million at the end of the month.
In October, external liabilities climbed by LTL 14.5 million to LTL 138.5 million at the end of the month. The deposits of non-resident PFIs (banks) with the Bank of Lithuania decreased by LTL 88.8 million throughout the month whereas the deposits of non MFIs (non banks) rose by LTL 103.3 million.
