The Bank of Lithuania begins publishing the balance sheet statistics of Lithuanian pension funds. Statistical data is compiled following the requirements laid down in legal acts1 of the European Central Bank.

Pension fund balance sheet statistics are compiled from data collected for supervisory purposes under the framework established by the Bank of Lithuania2, supplementing it with the information from the Centralised Securities Database operated by the European System of Central Banks.

Pension fund balance sheet data covers outstanding amounts at the end of the period and transactions during the period. The Bank of Lithuania publishes aggregated balance sheet statistics of all Lithuanian pension funds, as well as data of the second and third pillar pension funds, broken down by instrument category and maturity, as well as residency of counterparty and sector. The list of pension funds for statistical purposes is published as well.

Pension fund balance sheet statistics are published on a quarterly basis following the publication dates available in the data release calendar.
