The Bank of Lithuania’s holdings of debt securities issued by euro area residents increased by EUR 308.6 million, while loans to euro area residents decreased by EUR 12.4 million over the month. These indicators amounted to EUR 5.5 billion and EUR 545.7 million respectively at the end of the month. Euro area resident deposits held with the Bank of Lithuania boosted by EUR 1.4 billion — to EUR 6.1 billion — over the month. Loans of other monetary financial institutions (MFIs) to Lithuanian residents, excluding MFIs, increased by EUR 125.1 million, to EUR 18.5 billion at the end of the month. Deposits of Lithuanian residents, excluding MFIs, with other MFIs grew by EUR 252.6 million — to EUR 17.3 billion. Loans of other MFIs to Lithuanian households for house purchase, consumption and other purposes increased by EUR 52.1 million, EUR 7.8 million and EUR 8.8 million respectively over the month.
