The Bank of Lithuania's holdings of debt securities issued by euro area residents increased by EUR 431.8 million, while loans to euro area residents decreased by EUR 2.7 million over the month. These indicators amounted to EUR 5.9 billion and EUR 543.0 million respectively at the end of the month. Euro area resident deposits held with the Bank of Lithuania decreased by 749.5 million – to EUR 5.3 billion, over the month. Loans of other monetary financial institutions (MFIs) to Lithuanian residents, excluding MFIs, increased by EUR 30.5 million – to EUR 18.5 billion at the end of the month. Deposits of Lithuanian residents, excluding MFIs, with other MFIs grew by EUR 421.5 million, to EUR 17.7 billion. Loans of other MFIs to Lithuanian households for house purchase boosted by EUR 50.1 million over the month, while loans for consumption and other purposes dropped by EUR 1.4 million and EUR 1.0 million respectively.
