2005-08-05

At the end of July 2005, official reserve assets made up LTL 9,996.0 million (EUR 2,895.0 million or USD 3,490.7 million). In the course of one month they increased by LTL 99.3 million, i.e., 1.0 per cent.

Official reserve assets grew due to increase of currency outside the Bank of Lithuania and other foreign liabilities, which grew by LTL 172.1 million and LTL 67.7 million respectively.

The factors reducing official reserve assets were the decline of central government deposits and the lower balances of credit institutions with the Bank of Lithuania, which reduced by LTL 77.9 million and LTL 52.4 million respectively, as well as net decrease (LTL 10.2 million) of other liabilities of the Bank of Lithuania.
