For the first time, the Bank of Lithuania and the Department of Statistics to the Government of the Republic of Lithuania have issued a joint press release on foreign direct investment flows and foreign direct investment stocks.

According to preliminary data, foreign direct investment flow in Lithuania in Q1 2010 was negative totalling LTL39.9 million, which means the investment outflow.However, increasing equity prices contributed to a quarter-on-quarter rise of LTL184.4 million in accrued foreign direct investment in Lithuania to LTL33.5 billion at the end of Q1.

Lithuania’s direct investment flow abroad was negative (-LTL30 million), and accrued investments declined by LTL133.6 million to LTL5.4 billion at the end of the quarter.
