1. The Board granted permission to perform foreign currency operations to Palangos credit union. The Board also replaced the licence issued to this credit union by the Resolution of the Board of the Bank of Lithuania No. 33 of 14 March 2002 with a licence granting the right to engage in the activities established by points 1, 2, 4 and 5, Paragraph 1, Article 7 of Republic of Lithuania Law on Credit Unions and to perform foreign currency operations.

The said decisions were made considering the fact that the credit union is properly technically prepared for performing foreign currency operations and complies with the requirements for engaging in these activities.

The decisions shall come into effect after respective changes in the bylaws of Palangos credit union are registered in the Register of Legal Entities.

2. Discussion was postponed.

3. The Board amended the Payment Instrument Report Form 0607 for submitting the data on non-cash payments, bank cards, ATMs and card readers and electronic money.

The Board also approved the General Provisions of Requirements for Payment Instrument Statistical Reporting.

The said provisions and the new revision of the Payment Instrument Report Form 0607 were prepared to ensure compliance of the documents regulating the collection of statistical data on payment instruments initiated by the Bank of Lithuania with methodological and technical requirements of the payment instrument statistics established by the European System of Central Banks (ESCB) and considering the general principles for collection and management of statistics applied in the Bank of Lithuania.

Using the new revision of the Payment Instrument Report Form 0607 (hereinafter referred to as the Report), the data will be collected not only from banks and foreign bank branches, but also from the Bank of Lithuania and the State Enterprise Lietuvos pa?tas. Indicators of the credit unions of Lithuania will be assessed on the basis of the research data. Taking into consideration the requirements and recommendations of the ESCB payment instrument statistics, the Report was supplemented with new indicators. The Report will include the number of customer service locations, the number of overnight deposit accounts, cash operations at customer service locations, the international payments received. The data on payment cards and the data on machines in the country were expanded with new categories, and the summing-up principles of the total number of cards and the total number of machines were amended.

The Resolution shall be effective as from 1 January 2006, and the table data of the new revision of the Payment Instrument Report Form 0607 will be reported to the Bank of Lithuania from April 2006, starting with the data of the first quarter of 2006.
