Bank of Lithuania
2005-05-06

At the end of April 2005, international reserves made up LTL 9,703.5 million (EUR 2,810.3 million, USD 3,631.7 million). Over one month they increased by LTL 127.3 million, i.e. 1.3 per cent.

The growth of international reserves was affected by the increase of the volume of currency issued by the Bank of Lithuania (LTL 129.5 million), higher balances of credit institutions with the Bank of Lithuania (LTL 80.6 million) and increased other foreign liabilities of the Bank of Lithuania (LTL 22.8 million).

The factors reducing reserves were the contraction of central government deposits with the Bank of Lithuania (LTL 82.2 million) and lower other net liabilities (LTL 23.4 million).
