The Bank of Lithuania aims to help financial market participants better prepare for the entry into force of the Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on Markets in Crypto-assets (MiCA) and invites to take part in simulation training. Its form was chosen taking into account the wishes of market participants to apply the principles of the innovation lab and to expand the scope of the regulatory sandbox.
This training is dedicated to the drafting of white papers, i.e. proposals for the regulation of crypto-assets. Financial market participants wishing to participate in the training are invited to inform the Bank of Lithuania by email to tl.bl@xobdnas by 29 May 2024.
Interested financial market participants would develop pilot white papers with a technology solution provider. This process, prior to the entry into force of the MiCA Regulation, would help all parties involved to learn about the process of drafting, form and content of white papers.
Training calendar:
- 10–14 June 2024: simulation of the drafting of pilot white papers on electronic money and asset-referenced tokens;
- 17–21 June 2024: discussion on the drafted pilot white papers;
- 26 August – 26 September 2024: simulation of the drafting of white papers on other crypto-assets;
- 17 September 2024: discussion on the pilot white papers on other crypto-assets.
The Centre for Digital Excellence of the Bank of Lithuania is responsible for organising the training. The Centre was established at the beginning of 2024, with the aim of increasing the efficiency of the bank’s activities, digitalise the bank’s processes and services, and promote innovation.
