Bank of Lithuania transfers €11.17 million to state budget
By decision of the Board of the Bank of Lithuania, €11.17 million has been transferred to the state budget from the profit for 2017. In 2017 the Bank of Lithuania’s profit amounted to €31.93 million (in 2016 – €27 million).
The Bank of Lithuania transfers part of its profit to the state budget in accordance with the Law on the Bank of Lithuania. €5.98 million profit was transferred to the state budget from the profit for 2013, €7.54 million – profit for 2014, €10.44 million – profit for 2016, and €11.51 – profit for 2015.
The financial performance of the country’s central bank is presented in the Financial Statements of the Bank of Lithuania 2017, which have been approved by the Board of the Bank of Lithuania and will be published on the Bank of Lithuania website in the near future.
In its conclusion, which, together with the Financial Statements, will be presented to the Seimas, the independent auditor UAB PricewaterhouseCoopers states that the financial statements present fairly, in all material respects, the financial position of the Bank of Lithuania as at 31 December 2017 and it financial performance for the year then ended in accordance with Guideline (EU) 2016/2249 of the European Central Bank (ECB) on the legal framework for accounting and financial reporting in the European System of Central Banks (ECB/2016/34), adopted by the Governing Council of the ECB, the Law on the Bank of Lithuania and the Accounting Policy of the Bank of Lithuania, approved by the Board of the Bank of Lithuania.
