Bank awards Vladas Jurgutis scholarship
The Board of the Bank of Lithuania decided to award the Vladas Jurgutis scholarships to Indrė Petraitytė, a postgraduate student of finance at the Economics Faculty of Vilnius University, and Simona Latakaitė, a postgraduate student in finance and banking at the Economics and Management Faculty of Vytautas Magnus University.
Vladas Jurgutis Scholarship was established in 1990. It is awarded for one academic year to two full-time students of banking and finance at universities of the Republic of Lithuania. Candidates for the scholarship are nominated by university departments that have banking and finance cathedrals. Decisions on awarding the Scholarship are taken by the Board of the Bank of Lithuania. The scholarship equals the minimum monthly wage.
Bank sets the new coin issue date
The Board of the Bank of Lithuania decided to issue into circulation a collection (commemorative 50 litas silver coin dedicated to Vilnius Upper Castle on 28 September 2011. The coin belongs to the series of commemorative coins “Monuments of Lithuanian History and Architecture”.
The author of the coin’s graphic design and plaster model is Rytas Jonas Belevičius. The coins are minted by UAB “Lietuvos monetų kalykla” (Lithuanian Mint).
Information on the inspection results presented to the Board
The Board of the Bank of Lithuania was informed about the results of the inspection of the Vilnius branch of the Swedish bank Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken AB. Correctness of the compilation of the branch's financial statements and reports for supervisory purposes submitted to the Bank of Lithuania, compliance with the liquidity ratio, compliance with the Bank of Lithuania requirement regarding the liquidity reserve and liquidity counterbalancing capacity, and effectiveness of the internal control system were checked during the inspection.
Inspection results will be communicated to the Swedish bank Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken AB and the credit institutions supervisory authority of the Kingdom of Sweden.
