At the end of June 2003 reserve money made up LTL 5.6 billion. Over one month it went up by LTL 388.6 million, of which required reserves in foreign currencies, currency in circulation and commercial bank balances on correspondent accounts increased respectively by LTL 17.1 million, LTL 147.3 million and LTL 219.2 million. Foreign assets went up by LTL 184.9 million, and central government deposits declined by LTL 158.2 million over one month.

Foreign assets went up by LTL 45.3 million owing to operations with central government institutions and net purchase of foreign exchange by the Bank of Lithuania of LTL 156.6 million. Repurchase transactions with non-residents reduced foreign assets by LTL 30.2 million.
