Over one month reserve money went down by LTL 309.1 million, of which currency in circulation and commercial bank balances on correspondent accounts decreased by LTL 254.8 million and LTL 52.8 million, respectively.

Reserve money was reduced by LTL 504.5 million by operations of central government institutions and by LTL 61.8 million by operations of non-residents. However, reserve money was increased by the net purchase of foreign exchange from commercial banks of USD 238.2 million.

Foreign assets went up by LTL 541.2 million in January, and central government deposits increased by LTL 561.5 million.
