A currency exchange operator is a legal person established in Lithuania, a subdivision of a legal entity or of another organisation established in a foreign country, managing a currency exchange office(s), or a financial undertaking established in a country of the European Economic Area, which provides currency exchange services without establishing a branch in Lithuania, and which is entered on the List of Currency Exchange Operators.

Currently, 21 currency exchange operators operate in Lithuania.
