On 24–25 September, Warsaw will host the sixth biennial Lithuanian-Polish conference on economic research, “Macroeconomic Policy in a Heterogeneous and Imperfectly Rational World”, organised by Narodowy Bank Polski and Lietuvos bankas.

The conference will bring together economists and central bank experts to discuss how expectations, limited attention, differences across households and other behavioural factors shape the effects of monetary and fiscal policy on the economy. The programme will cover inflation expectations, consumption, economic fluctuations and the monetary policy transmission mechanism.

The conference will be opened by Julita Varanauskienė, Deputy Chair of the Board of Lietuvos bankas, and Marta Kightley, Advisor to the Governor of Narodowy Bank Polski. Keynote speeches will be delivered by internationally renowned economists Morten Ravn, Clare Lombardelli and Martin Eichenbaum.

Lietuvos bankas will also be represented at the conference by Stefan Girstmair, Barnabás Székely and Aurelija Proškutė.

The conference will take place at the headquarters of Narodowy Bank Polski in Warsaw.
