In view of the consumers‘ ever-increasing requirement of financial statistics as comprehensive as possible, the Bank of Lithuania has started publishing the annual growth rates of credit institution (other MFIs) balance sheet indicators (loans, deposits and holdings of securities). These indicators were calculated as the annual percentage change in the base index of adjusted outstanding amounts at the end of the period (see the MFI balance sheet and monetary statistics metadata file (159.6 KB )). Publication of the annual growth rates will help analysts better understand and disclose genuine trends in the development of the indicators, eliminating the effects of changes such as write-offs of loans, reclassifications, revaluations or exchange rate changes, etc.

The data on the annual growth rates can be found in the ‘Annual growth rates’ filter option in the MFI balance sheet and monetary statistics section above the thematic tables.

Taking into account that published statistics are revised and consumers, in individual cases, require data available before the revision as well, the Bank of Lithuania has started saving and publishing earlier versions of published data on the interest rates on loans and deposits of credit institutions that can be found in ‘Statistics’ under ‘Vintage data’.
