Today the mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) European Department under the leadership of Catriona Purfield finalized its work in Lithuania.
The mission’s work commenced on 13 May. The members of the IMF’s mission analyzed macroeconomic and financial stability in Lithuania, activities of the banks, assessed the development and prognoses of the entire economy. Meetings were held with the representatives of the Bank of Lithuania, Ministry of Finance, and other state institutions as well as private sector.

Since 2003, the basis for cooperation of IMF and Lithuania is economic consultations under Article IV of Memorandum of Association of IMF.
Lithuania has been a member of the International Monetary Fund since 1992. Currently IMF associates 186 countries.
