On 17–23 September of this year the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Mission, headed by Julie Kozack, a representative of the European Department of the IMF, will begin work in Lithuania. This Mission arrives in Lithuania every half-year.

The IMF experts will analyse Lithuania’s overall macroeconomic situation and economic development trends, assess the situation in the financial sector and the implementation of budget and social policy measures. Meetings are planned with the representatives of the Bank of Lithuania, the Ministry of Finance and other public institutions, as well as representatives of the private sector.

Lithuania has been a member of the International Monetary Fund since 1992. Currently, 188 countries are members of the IMF.
