In preparation for the 2006 consultations of Lithuania under Article IV of the Articles of Agreement of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the mission of the European Department of the IMF, headed by the Deputy Director of the Department Ashoka Mody, will work in Lithuania on 1-14 February.
The IMF mission will analyse the current macroeconomic situation in Lithuania and the general forecasts of economic development, assess the development of the financial sector and the implementation of the main budget and social policy measures.
The meetings are planned with the representatives of the Bank of Lithuania, the Ministry of Finance and other public institutions and the private sector. Some important issues, including inflation, shadow economy and migration, will be analysed and discussed in more detail during the seminars organised by the IMF mission.
