The first Financial Stability Review (2005) prepared by the Economic Department of the Bank of Lithuania is published on the website of the Bank of Lithuania.
The main purpose of financial stability analysis is to identify both internal and external threats to the domestic financial system and to evaluate the system’s ability to withstand the effects of unfavourable internal and external shocks.
The primary purpose of the Financial Stability Review prepared by the Bank of Lithuania is to analyse the domestic financial system devoting particular attention to the situation in the domestic banking system and its debtors - households and non-financial institutions.
Such reviews will be prepared and published in the future on a permanent basis. It is expected that they will be helpful in identifying more thoroughly the potential risks to the financial system of Lithuania, and will encourage discussions on the issues of financial stability by financial market participants, economists and all those interested in financial markets.
