The Bank of Lithuania has begun to asses the request to purchase the block of shares of AB bankas FINASTA
The Bank of Lithuania accepted the request of EurEst Capital OU and a group of legal and natural persons to purchase the block of shares of AB bankas FINASTA and has begun to asses the submitted documents.
“The appearance of a new player on the market will promote competition and this, no doubt, would be useful for both users of financial services and the financial sector itself,” says Vitas Vasiliauskas, Chairman of the Board of the Bank of Lithuania.
He emphasized that assessment of these documents does not block other possible investors from contacting the Bank of Lithuania regarding purchase of the AB Bankas FINASTA block of shares.
The Bank of Lithuania informed EurEst Capital OU and the group of legal and natural persons that their request was accepted and that the documents submitted by them are being assessed. The assessment is planned to be completed by 26 July at the latest.
The Bank of Lithuania can ask for additional documents and data, necessary for completing the assessment. In such a case, the deadline for submitting the assessment can be extended for 20 more business days.
