The Bank of Lithuania changes its logo and starts applying the principles for the usage of the logo of the Bank of Lithuania and other identity elements (proprietary style). The principles define the practical usage of the new logo and other visual attributes related to the institutional identity of the Bank of Lithuania: colours, fonts, elements of the bank’s interior and exterior.
The new logo of the Bank of Lithuania replaces the logo of the Bank of Lithuania used from 1993 up to now. In designing the new logo of the Bank of Lithuania, the complicated ornamental decoration was abandoned and new, more modern, solutions were sought; at the same time, an attempt was made to retain the composition of intertwined L and B letters characteristic to all stages of the logo of the Bank of Lithuania. The new logo consists of the combination of L and B letters simplified to a maximum and becoming an independent symbol, which represents the Bank of Lithuania in a laconic and picturesque way.
By using the new logo and the systematised proprietary style, the Bank of Lithuania seeks establishing a general unified system of identity elements, which is one of the main factors forming the image of a bank.
The Monthly Bulletin of the Bank of Lithuania of January 2005 prepared and published according to the new proprietary style starts the series of Bank of Lithuania publications of a new design. As from 1 April 2005, the new logo of the Bank of Lithuania will be also used in all other visual materials of the Bank, with the exception of internal and external design solutions, which will be implemented during the renovation of the interior and the exterior of the Bank buildings.
The new logo and proprietary style of the Bank of Lithuania were designed by joint stock company Dizaino institutas.
