In September 2006, external assets of the Bank of Lithuania increased by LTL 546.0 million to form LTL 11.9 billion at the end of the month. External assets went up by LTL 551.8 million as a result of transactions.
In September, currency in circulation rose by LTL 144.5 million to LTL 7.4 billion at the end of the month. As a result of transactions, residential deposits with the Bank of Lithuania grew by LTL 469.8 million over the month to form LTL 3.7 billion at the end of the month. Of them, the deposits of other MFIs increased by LTL 95.8 as a result of transactions to make up LTL 2.2 billion. At the end of the month, the deposits of the central government rose by LTL 374.7 million to LTL 1.5 billion.
Over the month, capital and reserves hiked LTL 16.6 million as a result of transactions to form LTL 975.3 million at the end of the month.
In September, external liabilities went down by LTL 10.4 million to LTL 124.0 million at the end of the month. The deposits of non-resident PFIs (banks) with the Bank of Lithuania grew by LTL 88.8 million throughout the month and the deposits of non MFIs (non banks) went down by LTL 99.2 million.
