In January, currency in circulation decreased by LTL 352.8 million.
In January 2007, external assets of the Bank of Lithuania went up by LTL 464.9 million as a result of transactions to form LTL 15.4 billion at the end of the month.
In January, currency in circulation contracted by LTL 352.8 million to LTL 7.7 billion at the end of the month. As a result of transactions, residential deposits with the Bank of Lithuania grew by LTL 713.8 million over the month to form LTL 6.8 billion at the end of the month. Deposits of the central government, as a result of transactions, went up by LTL 698.0 million to form LTL 4.1 billion at the end of January. As a result of transactions, deposits of other MFIs went up by LTL 8.0 million to equal to LTL 2.6 billion at the end of the month.
Over the month, capital and reserves hiked by LTL 21.5 million as a result of transactions to form LTL 1.1 billion at the end of January.
Since deposits of non-resident MFIs (banks) with the Bank of Lithuania as a result of transactions increased by LTL 302.2 million and deposits of non-MFIs (non-banks) slumped by LTL 204.1 million in January, external liabilities of the Bank of Lithuania went up by LTL 98.2 million to equal LTL 334.5 million at the end of the month.
