In February 2007, external assets of the Bank of Lithuania went down by LTL 289.9 million as a result of transactions to form LTL 15.2 billion at the end of the month.
In February, currency in circulation increased by LTL 173.8 million to LTL 7.9 billion at the end of the month. As a result of transactions, residential deposits with the Bank of Lithuania contracted by LTL 517.6 million over the month to form LTL 6.3 billion at the end of the month. Deposits of the central government dropped by LTL 196.5 million as a result of transactions to form LTL 4.0 billion at the end of February. As a result of transactions, deposits of other MFIs went down by LTL 316.9 million to equal to LTL 2.3 billion at the end of the month.
Over the month, capital and reserves hiked by LTL 16.3 million as a result of transactions to form LTL 1.1 billion at the end of February.
Since deposits of non-resident MFIs (banks) with the Bank of Lithuania as a result of transactions decreased by LTL 61.7 million and deposits of non-MFIs (non-banks) hiked by LTL 21.7 million in February, external liabilities of the Bank of Lithuania went down by LTL 40.0 million to equal LTL 294.5 million at the end of the month.
