Seimas appointed Gediminas Šimkus to a second term as the Chair of the Board of Lietuvos bankas
Today the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania appointed Gediminas Šimkus for a second term as the Chair of the Board of Lietuvos bankas.
The candidate for the Chair is nominated to the Seimas by the President of the Republic of Lithuania.
G. Šimkus has served as the Chair of the Board of Lietuvos bankas since 7 April 2021. He is also a member of the Governing Council of the European Central Bank.
The Chair of the Board is appointed by the Seimas for a five-year term.
