Representatives of the Bank of Lithuania participated in the Annual Meeting of the Boards of Governors of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank
Reinoldijus Sarkinas, Chairman of the Board of the Bank of Lithuania, Governor of the IMF for Lithuania, and Ramune Zabuliene, Deputy Chairperson of the Board of the Bank of Lithuania, Alternate Governor of the WB for Lithuania, participated in the Annual Meeting of the Boards of Governors of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB) on 11-13 October 2008 in Washington (USA).
The 18th Meeting of the International Monetary and Financial Committee (IMFC) of the International Monetary Fund announced an official communiqué presenting an overview of the current economic and financial situation in the world, priorities of the monitoring made by the IMF, a planed review of lending instruments, necessary actions to solve problems of the global economic and financial markets in order to restore confidence and stability.
During the IMFC meeting the presentation on behalf of the Nordic and Baltic Constituency, encompassing Lithuania, was delivered by Stefan Ingves, Governor of the Central Bank of Sweden.
