Representatives of the Bank of Lithuania attended the Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB)
On 20-22 October 2007, the Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB) took place in Washington (USA); the Annual Meetings were attended by Mr. Reinoldijus Sarkinas, Chairman of the Board of the Bank of Lithuania and Governor of the IMF for Lithuania, and Mrs. Ramune Vilija Zabuliene, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Bank of Lithuania and Alternate Governor of the WB for Lithuania.
During the sixteenth meeting of the International Monetary and Financial Committee (IMFC) of the International Monetary Fund, which took place on 20 October 2007, the Committee announced the Communiqué where it made an assessment of the outlook and risks of the global economy and financial markets, evaluated the IMF’s medium-term strategy and set future priorities.
During the IMFC meeting, Mr. Jyrki Katainen, Minister of Finance of Finland, made a statement on behalf of the Nordic-Baltic constituency, which also includes Lithuania.
