The Board of the Bank of Lithuania approved three documents to be followed when drawing up contracts on compulsory civil liability insurance of a designer of a construction works, technical supervisor of construction of a construction works and contractor.

The Rules of Compulsory Civil Liability Insurance of a Contractor and Rules of Compulsory Civil Liability of a Construction Designer that were effective up to now have been brought in compliance with the amended Law on Construction. A request from the Lithuanian Insurers Association to more clearly define in the Rules effective since 2003 how certain practical issues are to be solved was also taken into account.

The amended Law on Construction obligates technical supervisors of construction of a construction works who were not subject to the obligation of compulsory insurance by now to compulsory insurance too. Therefore, Regulations on Compulsory Civil Liability Insurance of a Technical Supervisor of Construction of a Construction Works containing similar regulatory principles and basic provisions as in the regulations on compulsory insurance of the other participants of the construction process – designer of a construction works and contractor – were approved.
