Today, President Dalia Grybauskaitė appointed Raimondas Kuodis as Deputy Chair of the Board of the Bank of Lithuania for another six years. 22 April 2017 will mark Kuodis’ second term of office in this position.

The Head of the State took such a decision following Article 84(10) of the Constitution of the Republic of Lithuania, Article 10(5) of the Republic of Lithuania Law on the Bank of Lithuania and taking into account the proposal of Vitas Vasiliauskas, Chairman of the Board of the Bank of Lithuania of 12 April 2017. 

Raimondas Kuodis, who has taken up different positions at the Bank of Lithuania for almost 20 years, focuses his attention on macroeconomics, economic projections, and scientific activities. He participates in the meetings of the Governing Council and committees of the ECB, settling issues concerning euro area monetary policy, as well as represents the central bank of the Republic of Lithuania at various international economic fora and organisations. As Deputy Chair of the Board of the Bank of Lithuania, he oversees the field of economics as well as units performing related functions (Economics Department and Statistics Department).

Raimondas Kuodis was born in 1971 in Vilnius. He graduated in economic cybernetics (Vilnius University) and international relations and political science (Institute of International Relations and Political Science, Vilnius University). In 2002, he defended a PhD in Social Sciences.

Raimondas Kuodis takes an active part in scientific, pedagogical and social activities, publishes papers in scientific literature and the media.

The Board of the Bank of Lithuania is comprised of 5 members: Chair, two Deputy Chairs and two Members. The Board currently has 4 members.
