At the end of September 2007, official reserve assets made up LTL 16.2 billion (EUR 4.7 billion, USD 6.7 billion). In the course of one month they decreased by LTL 590.7 million, i.e. 3.5 per cent. The official reserve assets declined by LTL 263.2 million due to the redemption of the Bank of Lithuania loans according to repurchase agreements and by LTL 563.5 million due to the change of deposits of other monetary financial institutions with the Bank of Lithuania.
The official reserve assets grew as a result of an increase in central government deposits with the Bank of Lithuania and currency in circulation of LTL 112.8 million and LTL 70.5 million, respectively, in addition to an increase in other factors of LTL 52.6 million.
In January - September 2007, the official reserve assets went up by LTL 1,035.7 million (6.8%).
