At the end of November 2006, official reserve assets made up LTL 14,064.4 million (EUR 4,073.3 million, USD 5,369.1 million). In the course of one month they increased by LTL 1,789.9 million, i.e. 14.6 per cent.
The growth of the official reserve assets was affected by higher deposits of the central government and other monetary financial institutions with the Bank of Lithuania of LTL 1,479.9 million and LTL 301.0 million, respectively, and an increase of other factors and the currency in circulation of, respectively, LTL 66.6 million and LTL 19.2 million. A factor reducing reserve assets was the contraction Bank of Lithuania external liabilities of LTL 76.8 million.
