Bank of Lithuania
2005-07-08

At the end of June 2005 official international reserves made up LTL 9,896.7 million (EUR 2,866.3 million, USD 3,450.9 million).

In the course of one month they increased by LTL 63.2 million, i.e. 0.6 per cent.

The growth of international reserves was affected by the increase of the volume of currency issued by the Bank of Lithuania (LTL 178.3 million), the net increase of other liabilities of the Bank of Lithuania (LTL 61.9 million) and higher balances of credit institutions with the Bank of Lithuania (LTL 33.2 million).

The factors reducing reserve assets were the decline of central government deposits with the Bank of Lithuania (LTL 182.8 million) and the decrease of other foreign liabilities of the Bank of Lithuania (LTL 27.4 million).
