The Bank of Lithuania begins publishing balance sheet statistics of Lithuanian insurance corporations.
Statistical data is compiled following the requirements laid down in legal acts1 of the European Central Bank.
Insurance corporation balance sheet statistics are compiled from data collected for supervisory purposes under the framework established by Directive 2009/138/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council2, estimated data and data exchanged with the Bank of Estonia. Aggregated balance sheet of insurance corporations is compiled from data of insurance undertakings of Lithuania, excluding data of non-resident branches of undertakings, and data of branches of other countries’ insurance undertakings registered in Lithuania.
Insurance corporation balance sheet data covers outstanding amounts at the end of the period and transactions during the period. Life insurance, non-life insurance and total insurance corporations data as well as the list of insurance corporations for statistical purposes are published.
Insurance corporation balance sheet statistics are published on a quarterly basis following the publication dates available in the data release calendar.
