In September 2010, M3 broad monetary aggregate decreased by LTL 210.1 million. Contracting M3 in September looks a trend observed for the third year in a row. For the first time since 2004, M1 narrow monetary aggregate went up by LTL 380.3 million, in contrast to previous six years. Net external assets of other monetary financial institutions (MFIs, i.e. external assets minus external liabilities) grew over the month by LTL 266.3 million. Other MFIs’ lending to residents, excluding MFIs, increased in September by LTL 86.4 million, while euro lending accounted at the end of the month for 70.7% of total lending.
