Over November 2014 the M3 broad monetary aggregate increased by LTL 282.7 million (EUR 81.9 million), while its annual growth rate was 1.8 per cent at the end of the month. A major impact on the increase in M3 came from overnight deposits, deposits with agreed maturity of up to 2 years, deposits redeemable at notice of up to 3 months and debt securities up to 2 years — over the month they increased respectively by LTL 1.0 billion, LTL 8.1 million, LTL 7.4 million and LTL 4.4 million (EUR 294.3 million, EUR 2.3 million, EUR 2.1 million and EUR 1.3 million respectively). However, M3 was reduced by currency in circulation, which over the month decreased by LTL 753.2 million (EUR 218.1 million). Domestic credit over the month increased by LTL 1.0 million (EUR 0.3 million): credit to general government increased by LTL 35.5 million (EUR 10.3 million), while credit to other residents decreased by LTL 34.5 million (EUR 10.0 million). Net external assets of monetary financial institutions (MFI) contracted by LTL 701.2 million (EUR 203.1 million) in September and amounted to LTL 15.1 billion (EUR 4.4 billion).
