Monetary aggregate M3 climbed in June 2012 by LTL 126.2 million, whereas its annual growth rate decreased to 14.3% at the end of the month. The M3 increase was mostly determined by the growth in currency in circulation and overnight deposits. Domestic credit went up by LTL 180.2 million because of the growing credit to other residents. The latter increased over the year by LTL 1.2 billion following the growth in the MFIs’ (monetary financial institutions) lending to the general government and the MFIs’ holdings of the debt securities issued by the central government. In June, the MFIs’ net external assets declined by LTL 322.1 million to LTL 7.4 billion at the end of the month.
