On Thursday the Board decided to announce the 500 litas commemorative coin and 1 litas circulation coins dedicated to the Palace of the Rulers of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania legal tender and to issue the coin as from 20 September 2005.
The dodecagon 500 litas gold coin weighs 31.10 grams, its mintage is 1000 pieces. The mintage of the copper and nickel 1 litas circulation coin will be 1 million.
The designer of the coins is the sculptor Giedrius Paulauskis.
