1. On Thursday the Board decided to announce the 50 litas commemorative coin dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Great Seimas of Vilnius legal tender and to issue the coin as from 1 December 2005.

The author of the graphic (artistic) design of the coin is Albertas Gurskas and the author of the plaster model is Rytas Jonas Belevicius.

The coin was minted at the Lithuanian Mint. The mintage of the coin is 1,500 pieces.

2. The Board adopted the Procedure for the Sale of Numismatic Items of the Bank of Lithuania and repealed several resolutions adopted earlier in relation to the sale pricing of the banknotes and coins of the Republic of Lithuania that have a numismatic value.

The new document defines the numismatic items of the Bank of Lithuania and establishes the procedure for their ordering, payment, pricing and the application of discounts.

The numismatic items of the Bank of Lithuania may be acquired at the cash offices of the Bank of Lithuania or to order. Information on the numismatic items and their acquisition is published on the website of the Bank of Lithuania at www.lb.lt.

The resolution will come into force as from 2 December 2005.

3. The Board discussed the application of AB Siaulių bankas for permission to appoint Jonas Bartkus as a member of the Board of Siaulių bankas and a deputy head of the administration. Such permission will come into force as from 7 December 2005.

4. The Board approved the results of the tender for the graphic (artistic) design of the 50 litas commemorative coin dedicated to Medininkai Castle (from the series “Historical and Architectural Monuments of Lithuania”). The design by Giedrius Paulauskis was granted the first place, with the designs by Stasys Leonas Makaraitis and Rytas Jonas Belevicius ranking second and third.

The Board approved the graphic (artistic) designs of the obverse and the reverse of the coin by Giedrius Paulauskis and the inscription on the edge of the coin: Istorijos ir architektūros monumentai (Historical and Architectural Monuments).

The 50 litas commemorative coin dedicated to Medininkai Castle is to be issued in the second quarter of 2006.

5. The Board approved the results of the tender for the graphic (artistic) design of the 50 litas commemorative coin marking the uprising of 1831 and the 200th birth anniversary of its heroine Emilija Pliaterytė. The design by Giedrius Paulauskis was granted the first place, with the designs by Stasys Leonas Makaraitis and Virginija Venckunienė ranking second and third.

The Board approved the graphic (artistic) designs of the obverse and the reverse of the coin by Giedrius Paulauskis and the inscription on the edge of the coin: 1831 * Sukilimas (Uprising of 1831) (repeated twice).

This commemorative coin is to be issued in 2006.

6. The Board gave its permission to AB Ūkio bankas to register an amendment to Article 3 of Chapter III of its articles of association related to the increase of its authorised capital to LTL 126.708 million approved at the general shareholders’ meeting of 24 March 2005.

Currently, the authorised capital of Ūkio bankas is LTL 106,707.996 thousand.
