1. The Board decided to change the graphic (artistic) designs of the 50 litas commemorative coin devoted to Kernave (from the series “Historical and Architectural Monuments of Lithuania”). In the graphic designs of the coin devoted to Kernave, created and changed by the same author Giedrius Paulauskis, additional information about the fact that Kernave is included into the List of World Heritage is presented (this decision was adopted in a UNESCO World Heritage session, which took place in China on 28 June to 7 July 2004). The commemorative coin devoted to Kernave is to be issued in Q1 2005.

2. The Board decided to change the previously approved graphic (artistic) designs of the 50 litas commemorative coin devoted to the Couronian Spit (UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE), establishing a different scheme of the edge of this coin. This commemorative coin is to be issued in Q4 2004.

3. The results of the tender for the graphic (artistic) designs of the 50 litas commemorative coin devoted to the 150th anniversary of the National Museum of Lithuania were approved. The first place was awarded to the author Antanas Zukauskas, the second place - for the author Rimantas Eidejus.

In addition, the graphic (artistic) designs of the front and the back of the coin created by Antanas Zukauskas and the inscription on the edge of the coin were approved.

This commemorative coin, devoted to the 150th anniversary of the National Museum of Lithuania, is to be issued in Q2 2005.

4. The Board decided to extend the schedule of issuance of commemorative coins for 2004?2005, envisaging to issue a coin devoted to the Cardinal Vincentas Sladkevicius (1920?2000) in 2005.

The Board also decided to reduce the mintage of the one-ounce gold coin devoted to the Royal Palace of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania to be issued in 2005 from 1500 to 1000 pieces. This proposal was based on a particularly high price of the coin to be issued (up to 1600 litas) and taking into account the sizes of issues of coins of similar technical parameters in other countries.
