Balance Sheet of Monetary Financial Institutions, November 2017

Today, the Bank of Lithuania published the MFI balance sheet for November 2017, which shows that loans granted by credit institutions to Lithuanian residents decreased by EUR 177.2 million over the month. Loans to Lithuania’s general government and the financial sectors reduced by EUR 217.4 million and EUR 1.4 million respectively, while loans to households  and non-financial corporations grew by EUR 39.6 million and EUR 2.0 million respectively. Loans granted by credit institutions to Lithuanian households for house purchase and consumption increased by EUR 46.4 million and EUR 0.4 million respectively, while loans for other purposes decreased by EUR 7.3 million. Deposits of Lithuanian residents with credit institutions rose by EUR 154.6 million over the month. Deposits of non-financial corporations and households, as well as general government sector deposits boosted by EUR 84.7 million and EUR 77.0 million respectively, while deposits of the financial sector decreased by EUR 7.1 million.
