Balance Sheet of Monetary Financial Institutions, March 2017

Today, the Bank of Lithuania published data for the March 2017 balance sheet of monetary financial institutions (MFI), which show that loans for house purchase from credit institutions to Lithuanian households increased by EUR 41.8 million. The steady increase in loans has been monitored since March 2015 – since then it increased by EUR 871.7 million. Loans for consumption over the month increased by EUR 18.4 million, while loans for other purposes decreased by EUR 10.4 million. Loans of other MFIs to Lithuanian non-financial corporations increased by EUR 106.2 million, while loans to general government and financial sectors contracted by EUR 19.0 million and EUR 23.4 million respectively. Deposits of Lithuanian residents, excluding MFIs, with other MFIs boosted by EUR 144.0 million. The deposits of non-financial corporations and households increased by EUR 113.1 million and EUR 101.7 million respectively.
