The year 2019 marked the sixth time the Bank of Lithuania participated in the Triennial Central Bank Survey of Foreign Exchange and Derivatives Market Activity launched by the Bank for International Settlements (BIS). The main goal of the Triennial Survey is to obtain comprehensive and internationally consistent statistical information on the size and structure of global foreign exchange and over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives markets.

More than 1,200 financial institutions in 53 countries contributed to the 2019 Triennial Survey, submitting data on turnover in foreign exchange and OTC derivatives markets in April 2019.  The survey conducted in Lithuania involved three market participants, comprising 54% of the country’s foreign exchange and derivatives market.

More information on the BIS Survey is available in the statistical release (85.8 KB ) of the Bank of Lithuania. Preliminary results of the Survey are available on the BIS website
