Lietuvos bankas has reduced the operating fees for its CENTROlink payment system by 50% and introduced an additional threshold of 1 million payments per month, after which each payment costs only €0.003. This initiative aims to enhance the attractiveness of the CENTROlink payment system.

"We made the decision to reduce fees in order to promote competitiveness and increase the accessibility of CENTROlink. Lower operating costs for CENTROlink participants also contribute to our initiatives to support innovative payment service providers", said Evaldas Ruzgys, director of the Market Infrastructure Department at Lietuvos bankas.

The new fees have been published on the Lietuvos bankas website and came into effect on 1 May 2025.

In total, more than 130 participants are involved in the CENTROlink system, most of whom are electronic money institutions and payment institutions.

CENTROlink is the payment system of the central bank of Lithuania. It enables payment service providers licensed in the European Economic Area to connect to the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) via the Lietuvos bankas infrastructure.

Access to the Lietuvos bankas payment system is granted to financial institutions that meet quality and compliance standards, and their activities, related risks, and reputation are continuously and thoroughly assessed. Particular attention is paid to the prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing.

Lietuvos bankas is consistently expanding the circle of CENTROlink participants, promoting competition and innovation in the field of payments. New payment service providers seeking effective and reliable access to the SEPA infrastructure are constantly joining the system. We invite potential participants to register for a personal consultation, where they can learn more about the possibilities and processes of joining CENTROlink.
